June 2024 Community Newsletter
4th of July
Don’t forget to join neighbors at Keith Bird Park for a 4th of July pancake breakfast from 8:30-10 am.
Our offices will be closed on the 4th and 5th for the holiday. Please be sure to reach out for lost or non-working pool keys beforehand.
If your celebration is going to include fireworks, please be sure to know what is legal or not and the best ways to handle them. Aerial fireworks are illegal to shoot off in Idaho, although you can purchase them legally in the state. Aerial fireworks have a risk of starting wildfires and causing injuries. We don’t want any accidents in the community, so please use extreme caution and follow these TIPS. Please also, clean up after yourselves. Even safe and sane fireworks can leave messes in yards and the street. Be sure to appropriately soak and dispose of any messes. Common areas and City parks may not be used to light off fireworks. Also, please be aware that neighbors and animals may not all like fireworks, so keep to reasonable timing. We greatly appreciate everyone’s consideration, and hope you have a very safe and enjoyable holiday!
Lost Rapids Crosswalk
As a community, we reached out to ACHD regarding adding a crosswalk to Lost Rapids for those going from one side of this busier street to the other, and it was denied. There are pedestrian ramps where you can cross from one side to the other already, and after ACHD did their evaluation, it did not meet the standards for a crosswalk to be put in. However, we could always have this re-evaluated in the future as the area continues to grow and get busier.
Neighbor in Need
We are still accepting nominations for the Neighbor in Need project. If you know a neighbor who needs a little help with something around the home, please fill out the form online, so as a community we can help them out.
Watering Schedules
Please remember there is a watering schedule for the community. Watering every day is not best, and we want to make sure we maintain the most evenly distributed pressure for all residents. Make sure your sprinklers are not watering driveways and sidewalks as much as possible, and fix broken heads as soon as you can. The watering schedule is:
- Even ending addresses water Monday, Wednesday, Friday
- Odd ending addresses water Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday
- Sunday is a makeup day for the common areas.
Example: 5743 N. Assisi Way is an odd ending address, and should water Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday
Common Area Landscaping
The Board has completed their spring walk of the community and are currently getting bids on tree/landscaping replacements or improvements and is having the landscapers work on a few concerns. We’ve recently replaced a decoder that went bad causing some areas not to water, and have fixed some clock issues. Those areas that are stressed should come back, and we’ll fertilize again to further assist. If you have any concerns or suggestions, please reach out and share.
Motorized Vehicles
Please keep golf carts and motorized dirt bikes off the common areas. There are laws about licenses to drive these kinds of items, and they should be kept on the streets.
Swimming Reminders
There have been complaints about inappropriate bathing suites being worn at the pools. These are family-friendly community facilities, so please be aware of your audience. This is for both adults and teens. Also, please make sure children who are not potty-trained are wearing swim diapers with plastic covers with elasticized waist and legs to help avoid accidents.
Dues Assessments
The 2nd bill for the dues has gone out. They are due July 1st, and late after the 31st. Please be aware that late fees and pool key shut-offs will begin August 1st. You can mail payment or pay online. If you need to make payments, please reach out before the end of July to avoid additional fees and collections.
