November 2024 Community Newsletter
Happy Thanksgiving!
It’s hard to believe we’re already into Thanksgiving, with Christmas and Hannukah looming! Before we close the book on 2024, we’ve got a few updates we owe our membership. Hang on…it’s a long one.
2025 HOA Dues
As we’ve telegraphed at the last few Annual Meetings, we’re happy to report that dues will NOT be increasing for 2025. Your Board members are unified in the desire to be fiscally responsible—balancing frugality with proactive maintenance and long-term planning.
Board of Directors Changes
One of our foundational Directors, Bob Rock, resigned his Board seat during 2024. Bob served as our Board’s Vice President and was a constant and energetic voice for our community members. His hands-on approach to helping individual neighbors, our vendor partnerships, and advocacy for community improvements will be sorely missed. At every step, Bob was a principled voice for transparency and open communication. Bob and Megan….THANK YOU.
With that departure and after a several-week process, the Board appointed Pam Fizznoglia to serve the remainder of Bob Rocks’ term as a Director. We also elevated Steve Elliott to the role of Vice President. Congratulations to both….that’s big shoes to fill!
Community Events
While we’re at it, we should recognize the incredibly successful Fall Festival (Oct 12) and the Thanksgiving drive (54 boxes distributed!). Those events are hugely popular, and only possible because of the gifts of time, money and talents of a small group of residents. You are the lifeblood of our community! THANK YOU.
Trailers and Street Parking
As a reminder, when we purchased our Bainbridge home, we all agreed to the various community standards and rules. That included trailers and how they’re parked on our residential streets. The City of Meridian and ACHD also have strict laws involved. If you routinely bring home a work trailer, please be a good neighbor and respect your neighbors’ expectations around uncluttered streets. Any vehicle, RV or trailer belongs primarily in a garage, then a driveway, and as a last resort on a street for a VERY limited time. Moving a trailer back-and-forth to skirt those rules isn’t clever, it simply makes more of your neighbors frustrated and forces the Board to address the issue. Our goal isn’t to use our existing fine structure or city Code Enforcement to address the problem, but it’s becoming clear that it’s an issue that must be addressed. There are several small business owners in the neighborhood, and we want to support those entrepreneurs…but our community is first and foremost a residential community. Please don’t be the reason we have to force our businesses to pay for off-site storage locations or towing fees.
